Anchor Activity is a strategy that allows students to work on an ongoing assignment directly related to the curriculum that can be worked on independently throughout a unit or semester.



RELEVANT TERMS:

Portfolio is a collection of student work, which demonstrates growth and provides evidence of work accomplished over a period of time, such as a unit, semester, or academic career.

WebQuest is a research activity in which students read, analyze, and synthesize information using the World Wide Web. Webquests were invented by Bernie Dodge and Tom March at San Diego State University in 1995.

Graphic Organizers such as the Venn Diagram below are visual representations or charts that help students interact with various concepts through the use of scaffolding. Other examples of helpful graphic organizers include Flow Charts, Concept Maps, KWL Charts, and Anticipation Guides.
